Escape to the idyllic French countryside and rediscover peace and quiet in our traditional stone farmhouse

There are 2 bedrooms, each with a bed (king sized in the master bedroom, double in the second bedroom), wardrobe and dressing table – duvets (both king sized) and pillows are provided. Guests are required to take their own bed linen and towels though.

The bathroom has a bath with a shower over, a bidet an electric point and a heater. The toilet is separate. Both of these rooms are on the ground floor.

This is the dining area (the table extends to seat 6) of the lounge/dining room.

There is no central heating but in addition to a very powerful wood burner, there are electric heaters. You'll find the wood burner in the lounge area of the lounge/dining room – logs can be found in the log store outside the garage and the same wood can be used as as is kindling. We try to ensure there is a supply of firelighters and matches, but you may need to buy more. There is also a small electric heater for instant heat when it’s chilly or as a fan when it’s too warm.

Also in the lounge/diner is comfy seating, a TV (French channels only), and a DVD which plays not only DVDs but also mp3s, movies and music from USB sticks and photos from some photo cards. A selection of DVDs can be found in the unit in the dining area, and in a box in the lounge there are books and CDs on French language, wine and culture.

In the kitchen there is a duel fuel cooker, a fridge with small ice box (no freezer!), a toaster, a coffee machine and a kettle. There is also a combination microwave/conventional oven. What we think of as the kitchen area is small (the room that we call the sitting room was traditionally an all purpose room which included the kitchen area) so for this reason you will find the crockery and glasses in the wall unit of the lounge area and the cutlery, table mats, rolling pin, etc. in the drawers of the unit in the dining area. There is a washing machine, an ironing board, an iron, laundry basket and pegs in the hallway to the stable.

The water is heated by a large immersion heater which can be found in the toilet.

Most of the electrical equipment has a French plug, but there are some adaptors around for using English 3-pin plugs.

The garden is south facing so get's the sun all day long. When doing a spot of weeding, we uncovered the original cobbled farm yard which makes a lovely patio. Although not shown in the picture, there is a wooden patio table with large parasol, and an assortment of chairs/loungers.

For those that visit in the summer, when it gets too hot on the patio, the ramp to the barn doors on the north side makes a much cooler alternative.

In addition there is a barn, a garret, a stable, a pig sty, a vaulted cellar and a garage. None of these areas have been developed so guests should exercise caution if they venture to these places.
